Most of the information relating to the trail camera ratings on this unit point to it being an excellent camera. The Primos line of deer cameras are some of the more recent in the field. But they have come on strong and have performed well out of the box for many people. They take a good quality picture and are adjustable to meet changing conditions. Another important item to consider in any trail camera is battery life and picture storage capabilities. The battery life on this unit is excellent with many people reporting getting an entire season out of one set of batteries. The storage capabilities on an 8GB card for pictures is impressive as well. Around 6600 pictures set at 3MP can be saved to a single card. Less for higher resolution, but still a ton of pictures.
The Primos line always seems to get high trail camera ratings and the 60 model is no exception. The 60 is the number of LEDs in the game camera. This gives the camera an effective range of 60 feet. That is huge. Many units are doing good if they can get you a picture that is viewable out to 45 feet. With the capability to adjust almost every setting you can really tweak this deer camera to get and save the settings that work best for your setup. Instructions are even on the unit itself but for most users there wont be much help needed as its pretty easy to get going right out of the box.
As with any trail camera there are bound to be some shortcomings. This one is no different. The entire Truth Cam line seems to have the same problem. The noise of the shutter and the flash that goes off with every shot. If an animal were very close to the unit it could startle it. It doesn’t seem to be a really big deal as animals continue to use an area covered by the deer camera over and over so not to worry.
Summary-excellent quality pictures and video, fast trigger speed, very adaptable, and quality construction and performance. The trail camera ratings on this unit are excellent.
