Read The Game Camera Reviews Here

Game camera reviews- lets take a good look at the 8 MP Bone Collector Trophy Cam by Bushnell. You’ve seen this one in the commercials and the ads. It looks good there. Of course it does right that’s what ads do. But how does it really work and is it worth it to try and watch your favorite hunting spots. In this post of game camera reviews we’ll answer these questions.

Check Price At Amazon

Lets start off with the specs for this game camera reviews:

Field Scan

Audio Record & Playback

Black & White Text LCD

3, 5 or 8 MP high-quality full color resolution

Day/night autosensor

External power compatible

Adjustable PIR (Lo/Med/High)

Trigger speed one second

Trigger interval – 1 sec. to 60 min. programmable

Multi-image mode – 1-3 images per trigger

Video length – 1 second to 60 minute delay, programmable

Widescreen, VGA, QVGA Video at 20 FPS

Temperature range -5° F to 140° F

32 infrared night vision LEDs – 45 ft. range

PIR sensor is motion activated out to 45 ft.

4 AA – 8AA batteries (not included)

Runs up to one year on one set of batteries

Adjustable web belt and 1/4-20 socket

SD card slot (up to 32GB)

Game camera reviews

So what does all this mean? Lets break it down a little.

Field Scan- this is the time lapse technology that lets you watch an area and see everything that goes on in a short time

The video mode also records audio. Audio is a neat feature that is becoming more popular. The video will record 1 second to 1 minute videos.

You can select 3.5 MP or 8MP picture quality. Higher MP equals better quality but you can store less of them because they are bigger files.

The adjustable PIR is the sensitivity of the camera for detecting movement and taking its shot. Three settings help to tweak camera to your unique hunting situation.

The ability to hold a 32GB Sd card is a big plus. The bigger the card the more pics and videos you can store and not have to worry about the card getting full before you get back to check it. Many people just have two cards and take one with them when they check on the trail camera, take the one out put the new one in and then go home and see what they got. It’s a little like a birthday present, wondering whats whats on there till you can check it out. And then when you see a nice deer or whatever its a great feeling.

Now the game camera reviews for this deer camera are mostly positive. Bushnell did a good job of including most of the features that people want in a trail camera while still keeping the price reasonable. Most reports indicate a quality unit with good night time as well as daytime pic’s, good video quality and good battery life. Battery life is as important as anything with a game camera and this one makes good use of that.

Now the drawbacks. There are always some no matter what. I ran into a few reports of people having a unit that did’nt work properly out of the box. Thankfully these reports were rare and all seemed to be fixed with a replacement unit. The only other real issue found in this game camera reviews seems to be with the customer service not being that great if there is an issue but anymore that seems to the norm for almost everywhere as opposed to the exception. If you get one with a problem (you probably wont) you would probably be better off just dealing with wherever you bought it. Always try and buy higher dollar toys from a reputable source whether online or at a store. No midnight Harry’s back of truck special if you know what I mean. Just this game camera reviews opinion.

Check Price At Amazon

Well that’s the whole of it. Good camera with good features and a good price. No major or recurring problems. This would be a good buy recommendation- Game Camera Reviews.

Complete Deer Camera Reviews

Deer Camera Reviews

Deer camera reviews of the Stealth Cam 8MP. This very capable unit has most of the bells and whistles that make people realize just how handy a trail camera can be. Also includes a few features that most don’t have. This game camera is not perfect. None are. In these deer camera reviews we don’t pull any punches and tell the good with the bad.

First The Specs:

Check Price At Amazon

Easily the coolest thing about this trail camera is the fact that the video can record the audio as well. This is not seen in many game cameras and while not essential is always a nice feature to have. Selectable resolution of pics as well as selectable zoom also help the deer camera reviews of this unit to be positive. Another adjustable feature is the amount of IR that is used in the pics. This can help if you get too many overexposed shots. Just turn down the number of lights of picture clarity should improve. All of these features are easily adjusted in the menu.

As we said this is a good camera not a great camera. As far as a camera in the under $200 category it does have a lot going for it. It also has a few drawbacks. The first one is the IR array. It’s bright white. Helps it take bright pictures but also stands out on a tree trunk. Some of the reports from earlier versions of this trail camera had high negatives because all the daytime pics would be washed out. This seems to be related to a quality control at the factory that has since been corrected. People buying the camera recently have not been reporting the problem so looks like all the bad units have surfaced.

These deer cameras seem to be very popular and one of the reasons is because of the price. A quality unit that takes good pictures and video with sound for under $200 is bound to get some fans. I think this game camera is somewhere around $120 and maybe even lower. You can check Amazon here for the current price.

So to recap, nothing to dissapointing about this trail camera. Solid design mixed in with some solid features help to keep it popular. Ability to make adjustments in zoom level as well as record audio when recording video help give it a big plus. And one of the best features, the price, help push the deer camera reviews of this unit to being a good buy.

Check Price At Amazon

Game Camera Reviews of the Moultrie Game Spy I-40

Your Source For Game Camera Reviews

Game camera reviews on the Moultrie Game Spy I-40 are in. Overall they are good although like almost all trail cameras there are some “quirks” as well as people who dislike this model. Now on to the game camera reviews.

Check Today’s Price At Amazon

Lets start this game camera review with the specs:

4.0-megapixel, rapid-trigger game camera

150-day battery life, 50-foot infrared flash, and no visible white flash

Includes mounting strap and weather-resistant housing

32MB internal memory and up to 4GB memory capacity with SD card (sold separately)

Windows 2000/ME/XP/Vista software required

Item Weight: 2.9 pounds

Now one thing that always surprises me when doing these trail camera reviews is this. No matter what make, or what model of game camera it is, someone always loves it and someone always hates it. Searching through the net here is some of the things I’ve discovered about this trail cam.

Pros:

Battery Life – Many of the fans of this game camera report an astounding battery life. They say that after months outside and thousands of pictures taken the battery is still going strong. They also say that being outside in winter in very cold conditions doesn’t seem to hurt the battery power very much.

High Quality Pictures – Most users report on the quality of both the daytime as well as the nighttime shots from the Moultrie I-40. As anyone who has ever looked at a grainy picture of a nice deer that you cant count the tines on will tell you this is important. The reason for having the camera is so you can tell what is going on when you arent around right? Some blurry picture that tells you not much is not real helpful. So quality pictures are important.

Video Quality – In the same vein as the still images, video quality is also praised when checking the game camera reviews on this model. Again same reasons as the still images. You want to see what is there and actually be able to identify what it is whether it is daytime or nighttime. This camera can do that.

The Info Strip – This is the little stamp on each picture that tells the time, date, moon phase, and camera name. Having this info right in the pics helps you to really pattern any animal that you are targeting to help you out later. Cool and helpful.

Cons:

Weak mounting bracket – Made of heavy duty plastic to keep costs down, it is not as durable as one made of metal. As is usually our recommendation if your buying a camera, get a game camera lock box. It helps protect your investment from bears and people. Side note- I am amazed at how many stories I read of peoples trail camera being torn up by bears. Always lock it up and keep it yours.

Slow shutter speed – This is something I hear about for many game cameras. Different brands and models all seem to suffer some version of this. My advice is always the same. Don’t try and use it as a trail camera aimed across a trail but more of up the trail type of camera. Or a food plot camera or feeder site etc. You get the idea. The longer you can keep your target game in front of the camera the happier you are going to be with the results.

Well that’s about the sum of it. There were a few reports of cameras not working right out of the box but this model is hardly the first one to run into that. Quality control is not always what we would hope it would be. Sad but true. Good camera overall from what I can tell. Most people seemed to be happy with it. A few were very unhappy with it but you almost always have that. The game camera reviews on this model are good camera at a good price.

Check Today’s Price At Amazon

Complete Game Camera Ratings

Use Our Game Camera Ratings To Make A Smart Choice

Game camera ratings for the Moultrie Gamespy 5MP trail camera are here. Much research goes into doing a trail camera review to help make the search for a quality unit a success. The 5MP Gamespy hits most of the marks needed for a positive review. No camera being perfect we will also talk about anything it could do better. Now on to the game camera ratings.

Check Price At Amazon

First The Specs:

Features tree bark looking finish for camouflage

5.0 megapixel infrared game camera

3 operational modes
-Ir triggered camera, time lapse plot camera, plot camera by day infrared camera by night

Up to 1-year battery life

The new Illumi-Night Sensor provides the brightest and clearest nighttime infrared pictures

16:9 widescreen images and videos provide a wider field of view than standard game cameras

Picture delay – 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1-60 minutes

Easy to read photo strip with temperature, moon phase, time, date and camera ID stamp

Records video with sound

Battery life calculator

Operates on AA batteries 4 or 8 batteries (not included)

Includes USB cable, mounting strap, and Plot Stalker software CD

One thing that seems to stand out about this trail camera is the high quality of the pictures it takes. Every person who reports in on the game camera ratings of photo and video quality is very impressed with them. Another big plus is the ease in setting this camera up. Very easy is a term best used to describe it. Battery life is good. This is not a small item. If battery life is poor not only do you have to buy more batteries but you also have to make more trips to your area to change them. More trips equals more smell and more chances to spook game. If the batteries hold up you also don’t have to worry about missing any shots of your intended target. Battery life is a bigger part of a deer cameras value than most people realize.

Click here to see more pictures from this trail cam

There are a few negatives as always. The number one complaint people have with the Moultrie’s is their customer service. Apparently it’s terrible. That is unfortunate because if your contacting them it’s probably because you have a problem with your camera. Thankfully most of the time there are no problems. It would be nice if the customer support was better when you do need them. In the event of problem, like if the deer camera doesn’t work, you might be better just dealing with whoever you bought it from.

So just to recap- quality unit overall, excellent pictures and videos, very good battery life, easy set up, and good night time pictures. The trigger time could be a little better but I always tell people to aim the camera up or down a trail or at a food plot, orchard or feeder. Most trail cameras do a poor job of capturing pictures of animals walking down a trail when they are directly across from it. And their customer support could use some improvement. One of the best and most reliable places to buy this or any other trail camera seems to be Amazon.

Game camera ratings on this unit- very good.

Most of the information relating to the trail camera ratings on this unit point to it being an excellent camera. The Primos line of deer cameras are some of the more recent in the field. But they have come on strong and have performed well out of the box for many people. They take a good quality picture and are adjustable to meet changing conditions. The trail camera ratings on most of their equipment is very good.

Another important item to consider in any trail camera is battery life and picture storage capabilities. The battery life on this unit is excellent with many people reporting getting an entire season out of one set of batteries. The storage capabilities on an 8GB card for pictures is impressive as well. Around 6600 pictures set at 3MP can be saved to a single card. Less for higher resolution, but still a ton of pictures.

The Primos line always seems to get high trail camera ratings and the 60 model is no exception. The 60 is the number of LEDs in the game camera. This gives the camera an effective range of 60 feet. That is huge. Many units are doing good if they can get you a picture that is viewable out to 45 feet. With the capability to adjust almost every setting you can really tweak this deer camera to get and save the settings that work best for your setup. Instructions are even on the unit itself but for most users there wont be much help needed as its pretty easy to get going right out of the box.

As with any trail camera there are bound to be some shortcomings. This one is no different. The entire Truth Cam line seems to have the same problem. The noise of the shutter and the flash that goes off with every shot. If an animal were very close to the unit it could startle it. It doesn’t seem to be a really big deal as animals continue to use an area covered by the deer camera over and over so not to worry.

Summary-excellent quality pictures and video, fast trigger speed, very adaptable, and quality construction and performance. The trail camera ratings on this unit are excellent.

Now lets get to the heart of it. Is this the best trail camera for the money? Answer: Maybe. Sorry. The Truth Cam series is a very good line of trail cameras. But they are not perfect. The 46 here is a step up from the 35 but it still has a few small flaws. There are 2 small flaws that stand out really. One is the noise of the camera of the camera itself. Every time it takes a picture it makes a “clunk” sound. This is related to the night time lens having to move out of the way. It can startle game that is close. Is it a deal breaker? Probably not. You will still get the shot of the animal and even if they are temporarily startled its not like they are going to run to the next county never to return.Helps keep it in the best trail camera for the money category.

The other small flaw is in the flash. Every time it takes a pic this game camera produces a visible flash. At night this can be startling to animals. One of the nice things that helps keep this in the ring for the best trail camera for the money is the fact that you can adjust this. In the controls you can select how many of the 46 leds are used to take the picture. Less leds equals less flash. Experimenting with this will help you find the right balance of acceptable flash while still giving an acceptable picture.

On the plus side of things this deer camera is very adaptable. And no you don’t need a week of reading the manual to figure out how to do it. Very easy to make adjustments based on how high of resolution you want your pictures to be, quality of video how many shots you want burst mode to be etc. It also has a hole for a cable lock. This is great to help keep your trail camera, yours. The back is equipped with the attachment to install the Truth Cam mount. This device lets you mount the trail camera is a ton of positions to get the best angle for your setup.

Even though the camera has a very fast trigger speed, its always advisable to aim up or down a trail or at a feeding spot rather than across a trail. Just makes for more quality pictures. Well that’s about the most of it and I hoped it help. Like I said, if its not the best trail camera for the money, its close.

A Review Of Game Cameras On Sale On The Net

Helping You To Find Game Cameras On Sale

In our search for game cameras on sale to review we sometimes surprise ourselves. Here’s a cheap (in Price) trail camera that takes decent pictures and is easy to operate. The biggest surprise with this trail cam is the price. Last check was only 39 bucks on Amazon. That’s less than half of almost any of the other game cameras on sale. And that is the everyday price! Now is it worth it? Lets Take a look under the hood.

Click Here To Check Price At Amazon

Looking through the product specs we see that this deer camera has a 3MP lens. This is a good all around lens for these types of cams. Any less and quality takes a nose dive. It can hold a 2 gb SD card. That also is the minimum you would want. It will hold a ton pics but you can never have enough memory card space right. But 2 GB is acceptable. As far as some of the other game cameras on sale the range on this trail cam is acceptable as well. 30 feet is common and on a unit at this price is a real bonus.

Specifications:

Model: 119203C

Resolution Settings: 1.3MP, 3MP

PIR Sensor: Up to 30 feet

Night Vision Flash: Xenon, 30feet

LCD Display: B & W text LCD

Power Supply: 4-D Cell

Battery Life: 90 Days

Video Mode: Yes

SD Capacity: 2 GB

OK enough of the techno babble right? Does this thing work and is it worth the money. Survey says-YES. Because of the low price on this deer camera there is a lot of feedback. One word of warning though- Don’t expect great night time pictures. Of all the game cameras on sale that are reviewed here, this one had consistent poor reviews for night time pics. Guess you just cant have everything for $40 bucks. Too bad. On the good side, this unit seems to take good quality daytime pictures and has a capable trigger to help you get more animals in daylight on the card. Just don’t expect great stuff from any pictures taken at night. Unless the animal is close. Like real close.

A few negative associated with this trail camera seem to be related to the on/off button. Seems you have to remove the batteries to get to the off button. Doesn’t seem like the best place to put that but then again I don’t own Tasco. The most common complaint was with the night time pictures as I said. Don’t be too disappointed if they don’t look like a $200 Primos. AS far as game cameras on sale go they just are two different animals.

As with any game camera security has to be taken into consideration. Try and keep these little guys discrete to help keep them from walking away. Many people have good luck mounting them 10 feet up in a tree and aiming it up or down a trail or at a feeding spot. Across trail aiming doesnt usually work for most people with most units. Definitely not with a little 40 buck unit like this guy.

So there you have it

-Good daytime pics

-Great Price

When compared to some of the more expensive game cameras on sale the Tasco 3Mp is a good buy.

Click Here To Check Price At Amazon

Best Trail Camera Tips You Can Use Now

Best Trail Camera Tips

Hey Everybody, just a quick note about the best trail camera. The best trail camera is whatever one you have. It’s better than not having one. Just getting one and using it puts you a step up on your chosen game. Now dont get me wrong. I do trail camera reviews here so I research lots of theses bad boys. Almost all are good. Anything I put up here has been checked out to give you the most bang for your buck. That being said, there a few things that will help your trail cam be the best trail cam.

Check Trail Camera Prices At Amazon

#1- Aim the trail camera up or down a game trail. If you aim it across, animal walks by fast, picture snaps and maybe you get nothing or just a booty pic. Our best trail camera tip for improving pictures.

#2- Aim the trail camera at a feeding area. This could be a feeder(where thats legal) or a natural feed area. Apple orchard, oak trees, food plot, you get the idea.

#3- Don’t aim the camera so it’s pointing at the sun. It’s much better to have the sun behind it or to the side. Think about if you were taking a picture, you dont want that glare.

#4- Make sure the tree or post you mount the trail cam to is SOLID. Little trees can sway in the breeze and cause lots of empty shots. Not good.

#5- Make sure area around the front of camera is clear of grass, weeds small branches etc. The wind blows, they sway, camera takes an empty shot.

#6- Its a good idea to get a lock box housing for your new toy. A hundred dollars tied to a tree can be very tempting to a thief. Locks only really keep honest people honest but its a good idea and almost essential if you use a camera on public land. One of our best trail camera tips. Keep it locked to keep it yours.

#7- When you set up the camera and when you go check it think like your hunting. Try and keep human scent to a minimum. Dont disturb the area any mor than you need to. Your trying to get game to walk close so dont give them any reason to spook.

Well there you go. 7 tips that will help you get better results from any trail camera that you use. Good luck and happy hunting with your best trail camera.

The Wildgame line of deer cams is one of the most popular on this trail cam review site. And there is a reason. They work well and they are not ridiculously expensive. The 6 megapixel is a great example of a quality hunting camera. As with every model and brand there are its quirks but this is one of the most popular cameras thats gone through our trail cam review and its around a hundred bucks.

Check Current Price At Amazon

The basic details and features for this trail cam review are:
• 40 foot flash range, 64MB of on board memory
• Still images or 30 second video clips
• Accommodates up to a 8GB SD Card
• Product Dimensions: 5 x 4 x 8 inches ; 1.2 pounds

That’s the basics. Here is the trail cam review. This camera is small, about the size of a box of baking soda. This camera is camouflaged. This helps to conceal it from animals as well as people. It will take pics at night that are of very good quality. Daylight same deal very good quality. One thing to pay attention with this trail cam is that the lens doesn’t have a hood. The hood helps to keep the lens from being exposed to too much sun etc. and taking pics of nothing. One easy way to deal with this is to place the camera so the sun is behind or to the side of it. Never straight on or else you’ll get a bunch of pics of nothing.
After reading lots of trail cam reviews a few things about this game camera can be summed up. Most people consider it a good purchase. They say it was easy to use and set up right out of the box. People seemed to find the quality of both the night time and day time pictures to be excellent to good quality. Most recommend using the SD cards as these allow you to quickly change out the cards and leave the area. Then when you get back home, pop it in your computer and feast your eyes on what is running around in your area. On a side note as with all trail cams you should invest in a lock box/ chain setup. These little devils are attractive to light fingered people. They see these hundred dollars toys in the middle of the woods, no one around and zip, there goes your camera. So lock it up and keep it yours. Just a bit of advice from the trail cam review crew.
Not everybody found these trail cameras the greatest thing ever of course. A few of the complaints I ran across are that the trigger speed is slow. This is combated by pointing the cam up or down the trail not across it. Water holes or feeding areas are also great for any camera. Another complaint is no burst mode. A burst will take several pics one right after the other when something sets it off. Not totally necessary but something a few people wished this one had.
So to sum it up good trail camera, easy to operate, good price, and mostly satisfied customers.Thats my trail cam review and I hope it helps.

Reviewing The Best Trail Cameras Is What We Live For!

Reviewing The Best Trail Cameras Is What We Do!

The 8MP Trophy Cam is one of the best trail cameras . It has all the best features of units costing many times more. With a one second programmable trigger speed, 32 night-vision leds, and a selectable 3,5, or 8 megapixel resolution it truly shines in adaptability.

Not only does it have a one year battery life (amazing for a trail cam), it also can hold up to a 16GB SD card. That is one heck of a lot of pictures or video. Yea, this thing can take video as well. One second to one full minute video clips. This is like the swiss army knife of trail cameras, full of features, and a great buy.

Click here to buy this trail camera at Amazon now

Overall, for the price of this unit and the high quality features this is getting on the best trail cameras list from this reviewer. There are higher quality units out there but at double or triple the price for just a little bit better trail cam.

Let me show you what actual current owners have to say about it.

            G.G. Buckner,

As a wildlife biologist I have used over 10 trail cams and made thousands of setups. These are the best trail cams I have used. While no camera sitting by itself in the woods is going to take a perfect picture every time most problems can be fixed by getting the settings right. Go back after day one and check your results and make adjustments to the cam for your particular setup.

I have gotten pictures of deer, bears, minks, badgers skunks, birds, poachers, trespassers, panthers, coyotes, bobcats, and about every other kind of animal in southwest Florida or central Illinois.

These game cameras surpass most others available. I highly recommend them and will be buying more of them.

Review paraphrased for size—view original here
